The Peer Buddy Program

…then register yourself for the peer buddy program of the International Office!
The peer buddy program is about supporting an exchange student when they arrive in Paderborn. The program starts one month before the lecture period, namely, in september for the winter term, and march for the summer term. When registering you can make a comment whether you speak a certain language or are interested in any particular country in order to be matched with a future exchange student. The point of the peer buddy program is to facilitate the first days or weeks in Paderborn of your buddy and support them when it comes to official matters or the German bureaucracy. Besides, it is your choice whether you want to stay in touch with your buddy during the semester. Seize the opportunity to get to know more international students and their cultures, and practice your language skills! Further information can be found here:

The Tandem Program
If you want to practice your language skills with a native speaker, register yourself for the tandem program at the Center for Language Studies (ZfS)! You meet your tandem partner for 3-4 hours per week and speak in both German and your target language. There is even the opportunity to receive credit points for successful participation.
